Questions

Is this an official election?

No. Draft To Run is an unofficial community platform. Nothing here is a ballot, a petition, or a filing. It is a public way to say: this neighbor should consider running for Mayor of Kingston in 2027.

How many times can I endorse someone?

Once. One verified person gets exactly one endorsement per nominee — the rule is enforced in the database, not just the button. You can endorse up to 10 different people in total, and you can take an endorsement back at any time.

Why do I need to verify with a phone or email code?

Verification is what makes one-per-person real. We send a one-time code to your phone or email; that verified contact is your voter record. We never show it publicly.

Is this partisan?

No — by design. There is no party field anywhere on Draft To Run, no policy questionnaires, and no comments. Nominations answer one question only: where have you seen this person serve this community?

I was nominated and I don't want to be listed. What do I do?

Use the opt-out on your page. Your profile is hidden right away, and a human reviews every opt-out, claim, and report.

Can the person I nominated edit their page?

Yes. They can claim their page; once a claim is approved they get a verified-claim badge and can update their photo and add a short statement about service and community.

What do badges and leaderboards get me?

Status and bragging rights only. Badges can never be bought and endorsements can never be purchased. Sharing is how nominees climb — advocates earn credit when someone endorses through their personal link.
