Kingston Mayor 2027

Privacy policy

Short version: we collect the minimum needed to keep one-per-person honest, and we never sell data.

What we collect

Your verified contact — a phone number or email address, verified with a one-time code. This is your voter record and the anchor of the one-endorsement-per-person rule. It is never displayed publicly and never shared with nominees or advocates.

Your display name — optional. Shown only where you opt in: crew lists, advocate leaderboards, and “nominated by” credits.

Your activity — nominations you make, endorsements, crew memberships, badges, and (for advocates) endorsements that arrive through your share link. Endorsement counts per nominee are public; who endorsed is shown only through opt-in crew display.

Audit records — endorsements, nominations, claims, and admin actions are logged with timestamps (and IP addresses for abuse prevention) so results can be verified and abuse investigated.

What we never collect

Party affiliation (there is no field for it), political views, payment information (nothing is sold here), and precise location. Ward and neighborhood are chosen by the nominator from a list — nothing is geolocated.

Cookies

A signed session cookie keeps you verified on your device for 30 days. An advocate cookie remembers whose share link you arrived through (30 days) so they get credit if you endorse. No advertising trackers.

Your choices

Un-endorse any time from a nominee page or your dashboard. If you were nominated and want off, the opt-out on your page hides your profile immediately. For anything else — including deleting your voter record — use the report/claim form on any nominee page or the contact in the footer of our emails, and a human will handle it. Verification codes are processed by Twilio (text) and Resend (email) solely to deliver your code.
